Biblical Covenants and how they contrast our modern age.

In 2024 I entered into debates with several religious leaders from different church backgrounds on the nature of biblical covenants and biblical marriage covenants. These videos were a byproduct of that process, they summarize the biblical instructions regarding the nature of biblical covenants and how they differ from cultural and legal marriage of the modern age.

Breaking Biblical Covenants

The Bible outlines 5 common responses to a Biblical Covenant:

  1. Obedience to a Covenant Relationship
  2. Ignorance to a Covenant Relationship
  3. Rebelling against a Covenant Relationship
  4. Violating a Covenant Relationship
  5. Breaking a Covenant Relationship

In this video we explore these different responses to a Covenant Relationship, and focus most of the study on differentiating between violating and breaking a covenant.

Breaking covenants is not commonly understood, but the Bible outlines four ways to break a covenant.

Understanding Biblical Divorce

Jesus taught 3 different divorce scenarios, most Christians are only aware of 2. The Apostle Paul introduces a 4th scenario, as well as a model for biblical separation.

  1. When a husband divorces a faithful wife
  2. When a husband divorces an unfaithful wife
  3. When a wife divorces a husband

In this video we explore the asymmetry in Jesus' teachings on divorce to discover the greater principles behind it.

Who Changed Divorce?

When this video first aired people thought maybe my thinking was a bit radical. But look where we are today, the Canada is looking to pass bill C-9. Which will mark portions of the bible as hate speech. This is a clear and unquestionable divide between the legal system and the scriptural heritage it presumably represents.

The sooner Christians begin to learn of the deep divide between the culture and their faith, the sooner they can begin to make clear choices between the two

Understanding Biblical Adultery

One of the challenges we face is the shifting and evolution of cultures and traditions, this includes religious cultures and traditions. With these changes terms and concepts also change and evolve over time. In this video I demonstrate the modern day misunderstanding behind the sin of adultery.
